Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide has warned that the situation in Gaza Strip caused by Israeli aggression amounts to a ‘man-made disaster’ urging for immediate ceasefire in the besieged territory.
Barth explained in a statement on Wednesday that “Israel’s use of military force is having a disproportionately severe impact on the civilian population and is not in line with international humanitarian law.”
He stressed that “there is an urgent need for a ceasefire and to deliver more life-saving humanitarian aid to the population.”
Since October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of civilian victims, most of them children and women, a humanitarian catastrophe, massive destruction of infrastructure, and famine in a number of areas.
