The chairman of the Council of Islamic Organization in Malaysia has called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to boycott Israel in face of the crimes committed by the regime in Gaza Strip.
Azmi Abdul Hamid made the comment in a meeting with Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, the Secretary General of Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said,” The 75 members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation must boycott Israeli regime” and added that if half of the member states impose sanctions on the regime, they will be successful to defeat Israel.
Azmi Abdul Hamid warned that the Israeli regime is in pursuit of complete destruction of the Gaza Strip and urged the world countries to cut off all diplomatic and trade ties with the “Zionist regime of Israel”.
The chairman of the Council of Islamic Organizations in Malaysia said that the war in Gaza is the topic for the upcoming International Quds Day.
He emphasized the importance of unity in the world of Islam and called on the world Muslims to unite in the face the countries that intend to dominate Muslims.
Prominent Malaysian figure expressed regret on the OIC falling short to take appropriate measures regarding the Gaza war and called for another organization to follow the issues of world Muslims.
He referred to a platform for communication of the Islamic countries based on the issue of al-Aqsa Mosque and said such a platform is active in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.
