The Director of the World Health Organization has described as ‘heartbreaking’ the situation in Gaza hospitals and renewed calls for protection for all hospitals across the besieged Gaza strip.
Tedros Ghebreyesus said in a post on X platform, that the process of recovering dead bodies in Al-Shifa Hospital is still continuing.
Ghebreyesus called for an immediate ceasefire, saying that the main medicine that people in Gaza need is peace.
According to the Ministry of Health, 12 hospitals in the Gaza Strip are partially operating, with six of which are in the north and six others in the south.
In a preliminary toll, the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has resulted in nearly 34,000 documented Palestinian fatalities, in addition to more than 76,500 injuries since October 7.
