Taghribnews (TNA) - US State Department spokeswoman resigns in protest of Gaza war

Hala Rharrit, the Arabic-speaking spokeswoman of the US State Department, announced her resignation in protest of Washington's policy towards the Gaza war, and this is at least the third resignation of this ministry due to this issue.

She also served as the Dubai Regional Media Hub’s deputy director.

Hala wrote on the social network platform (LinkedIn): "In April 2024, after 18 years of distinguished service, I resigned in protest against the US policy in Gaza."
About a month earlier, Annelle Sheline announced his resignation from the State Department's human rights office, and State Department official Josh Paul also resigned last October.
Rharrit is the latest State Department employee to resign over President Joe Biden's policy on Gaza, where more than 34,300 people have been killed amid the Israeli siege, according to local health authorities.
