Cleric hails resonance of Islamic unity conference in Iraq

The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has hailed the resonance of the second International Islamic Unity Conference held in Baghdad and also its positive feedbacks inside Iraq.


Dr Hamid Shahriari, in a meeting with Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Hosseini, representative of the Leader in the holy city of Najaf, noted the outcomes and positive feedbacks of the second International Islamic Unity Conference, the first of its kind attended by members of the Supreme Council of the world forum outside Iran, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He defined as “awesome” the resonance of the Wednesday conference held in collaboration with the Iraqi Sunni institutes and organizations inside the Arab country.
 
Dr Hamid Shahriari underlined the importance of such meetings in Iraq and lauded the cooperation of the representative of the Leader in organizing meetings with the Iraqi authorities.
 
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the second International Islamic Unity Conference entitled “Al-Aqsa Flood, Issues and Identity” held by Iraq’s al-Rebat al-Mohammadi Scholars Society.
 
Shia and Sunni scholars and elites from different Islamic countries attended the meeting among them intellectuals from Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Kuwait, Lebanon and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
