The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought highlighted role of clerics in boosting solidarity between Iran and Afghanistan nations and government.
Dr Hamid Shahriari made the remarks in a meeting with Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Noor Uddin Azizi during a visit the Afghan official paid to Iran’s pavilion at Halal Expo in Kazan, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Dr Shahriari called on the clerics to endeavor for boosting unity between the Iranian and Afghan nations, bolstering ties between the Islamic denominations and also establishment of joint cooperation in different fields.
The senior cleric highlighted importance of settling the issues at joint borders and also speedy development of the railway between the two countries.
Also Kazem Jalali, Iranian ambassador to Russia, underlined bolstering of ties with neighboring countries top on the agenda of President Raeisi’s administration.
He referred to the cultural commonalities of Iran and Afghanistan and said,” The issues challenging Afghan people during the past decades is due to the measures by world powers” and added,” The more we prevent foreign infiltration into the region, the more our nations will benefit.”
Noor Uddin Azizi for his part said Afghanistan pursues increasing its trade volume with Iran to more than 10 billion dollars and also adding the working hours of the costume offices at border in order to boost the commercial ties with Iran.
