The UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator said the Gaza Strip has turned into a ‘hell on earth’ due to Israeli genocidal war on the besieged strip.
Martin Griffiths condemned the Israeli regime for the excessive damage brought to the infrastructure and hindering delivery of humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip, already on the verge of famine.
Griffiths also denounced the continued flow of weapons from the United States and other countries to the Israeli regime despite the horrific impact of war on the Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said the hostilities are continuing in southern part of the Gaza Strip and that the notification he received regarding a so-called ’tactical pause’was later denied.
He added, “At the moment, I don’t see anything that can be described as a temporary cease-fire.”
More than nine months into Israeli genocidal war against the besieged Gaza Strip, the regime has killed nearly 37,500 Palestinians and injured almost 85,500 others in relentless strikes across the besieged strip, most of them women and children.
