The Secretary General of Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has underlined Hajj pilgrimage as the best opportunity for convention and debate among the elites from across the world of Islam.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, made the remarks at the 34th meeting of the Compassionate Nation roundtables, the latest of its editions on Hajj pilgrimage as an axis of unity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He noted monotheism and resurrection as two principles both of which can be found in Hajj pilgrimage.
Dr Shahriari said that the annual Hajj pilgrimage, besides its spiritual features also resembles the day of resurrection when all people change their clothing to don the same form of costume before circulating around Ka’aba (cubic structure towards which Muslims pray).
He said,” We witness the present world’s tyrants in the colonial powers” and added that 80 per cent of the global wealth is owned by the arrogant powers that emboldens them to struggle for domination of the world though all its efforts are in vain.
The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought stressed that Muslims have no problem with the Jewish or Christian community once they do not seek war or raise against Islam.
The meeting of Muslim scholars and elites was organized by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought with four prominent Muslim scholars in attendance. Held in the wake of the Hajj rituals, the participants hailed the annual Islamic pilgrimage as a platform for the Muslim scholars and intellectuals to share their political views and form a unified front among Muslims.
