The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, has appointed his new representative for East Azarbaijan province more than a month after a helicopter crash martyred the previous envoy, late Ayatollah Al-e Hashem.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, has appointed his new representative for East Azarbaijan province more than a month after a helicopter crash martyred the previous envoy, late Ayatollah Al-e Hashem.
The Leader, in his decree, introduced Sheikh Ahmad Motahhari Asl, as the new representative of the leadership in East Azarbaijan province and prayer leader of Tabriz, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Ayatollah Khamenei, expressed hope that knowledge and compassion of the new prayer leader is set as the axis for interaction with the people in East Azarbaijan province.
The Leader also hailed late Ayatollah Al-e Hashem for his popularity and years of serving the people in Tabriz.
Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Al-e Hashem was among the delegation of senior officials accompanying President Ebrahim Raeisi from the Republic of Azerbaijan when their helicopter crashed in northwest Iran killing all on board.
