Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman has rejected the allegations by Foreign Affairs Minister of Israel as ‘desperate efforts’ to detract the international attention from the regime’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Nasser Kanaani wrote, in a post on his X account, that the hate speech by Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister is a falling forward against the global wrath and hatred for the war crimes Israeli regime has committed in Gaza regime, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The comment by Iranian official comes in response to the remarks by Yisrael Katz, reported by Reuters, in talks with his Frech counterpart regarding potential threat by representatives of Iran and other alleged terrorist organizations that intend to launch attacks against Israeli Olympic delegation and tourists during the 2024 Summer Games.
Katz has not given further details regarding his claims.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said such accusations are against Olympics’ peace and friendship charter and stand as another instance of the Israeli regime’s lack of commitment to the internationally-recognized norms and values.
He noted that the Israeli regime, that has gone beyond the borders of brutality, by killing tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians during the past nine months is more of absurd rather than believable.
Iran has sent a total of 40 athletes to the Paris Olympic Games Paris 2024 that began on Friday July 26 and will continue until August 11.
