Ismail Haniyeh, the political chief of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and his body guard have been martyred in the Iranian capital Tehran.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Wednesday morning, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
IRGC statement said that Haniyeh and his body guard were hit in their residence in Tehran.
Haniyeh was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian which was held Tuesday afternoon.
 
Iran’s IRGC has expressed his condolences to the Palestinian nation, resistance fighters and the Islamic nation.
 
IRGC added that the incident is under investigation.
