Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, has launched a rocket attack against an Israeli military position in response to the regime’s atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon.Hezbollah said in a statement on Monday that a volley of Katyusha rockets was fired at the newly established headquarters of the 146th Division in Giaton.
It added that the operation was carried out in response to Israel’s attacks on civilian areas in southern Lebanon, particularly in the town of Maaroub.
“The fighters of the Islamic Resistance on Monday, 12-08-2024, bombarded the newly-established command headquarters of the 146th Division in Jaatoun with Katyusha rocket barrages,” the statement said.
According to Hezbollah, the rocket attack was also aimed at showing the Lebanese movement’s support for Palestinians in Gaza.
According to the Israeli regime’s media, Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system was unable to intercept most of Hezbollah’s missiles.
The attack caused a huge fire in the western part of Galilee in the north of the occupied territories.
The Israeli regime has been conducting near-daily attacks against the southern parts of Lebanon since October 7, when it launched a genocidal war on Gaza.
Hezbollah has been responding with strikes aimed both at retaliating against the regime and supporting the war-hit Gazans.
