Maulvi Gholam Nabi Tavakkoli, in his address at the eighth webinar of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference, expressed regret over the support by some Arab states for the Israeli regime amid its genocidal war against the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He stressed that the idea of resistance is now approved across the world and hailed the global protests in support of the Palestinians suffering Israeli atrocities in the occupied lands.
The prominent Sunni cleric hailed the Palestinians in Gaza for their deep belief in the Qur’annic verse “Allah is all-sufficient for us and the best one to trust in” even amid the toughest moments of Israeli bombings.
The senior cleric condemned the Israeli regime for targeting the resistance leaders and said,” Whenever the enemies are desperate, they commit blind assassination attacks out of the Palestinian lands”, signaling the attack that martyred the polit bureau chief of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran.
Maulvi Gholam Nabi Tavakkoli made the remarks in an online meeting of the Shia and Sunni intellectuals held as the first part of the Islamic Unity Conference on "Islamic cooperation to achieve common values with an emphasis on the Palestinian issue".
More than 200 university professors, thinkers and activists attend the online section of the conference ahead of the second section which will be participated by hundreds of religious leaders and officials from across the world of Islam in the Iranian capital Tehran on September 19-21.
