An Iranian expert on Islamic denominations affairs has slammed the countries that launch friendly relations with the Israeli regime calling that mere oppression against the Palestinians in the occupied lands.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hassan Zamani, in an address to the eighth webinar of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference held on Tuesday said establishment of the Israeli embassy in the Islamic countries is a manifestation of building friendly ties with the occupying regime, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He added that the God Almighty prohibits Muslims from building friendly relations with enemies of Islam and he who does so is certainly an oppressor.
The senior scholar called the issue of Palestine as number one issue for the world of Islam calling on the Muslims across the globe to mobilize for helping the Palestinian people and end the occupation of the Israeli regime.
He said the mission of Palestinians amid the Israeli occupation and atrocities is to resist and expel the enemies from their ancestral lands.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hassan Zamani continued that the mission of other Muslim countries is to support the Palestinians in their fight against the Israeli regime.
The top Shia cleric made the remarks in an online meeting of the Muslim intellectuals held as the first part of the Islamic Unity Conference on "Islamic cooperation to achieve common values with an emphasis on the Palestinian issue".
More than 200 university professors, thinkers and activists attend the online section of the conference ahead of the second section which will be participated by hundreds of religious leaders and officials from across the world of Islam in the Iranian capital Tehran on September 19-21.
Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought organizes the annual meeting concurrent with the Islamic Unity Week which marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
