The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has emphasized that the double standards of the ruling countries on international sports issues were noticeable in the recent Olympic and Paralympic games.
The Supreme Leader said: "I am very happy that once again I had the opportunity to meet a group of the dearest children of this country. Especially our dear young athletes are considered a source of honor and pride for Iran."
The Supreme Leader of the Revolution stated: "This year, a special brilliance was noticeable in the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Of course, I cannot follow the details of sports and news but I was partially briefed, and watch or hear as much as there is time. This year was very outstanding, very good."
Ayatollah Khamenei elsewhere noted: "Another thing that was noticeable this year in the Olympic Games is the double standards on the parts of the ruling countries on international sports issues. They really showed that double and biased policies govern their behavior. They deprive a certain government, a certain country, because in a certain place it has started a war; But the Zionist regime, which has killed thousands of children, has killed more than 41,000 people in about a year is not banned from the games."
The Supreme Leader stated: "Well, this policy is based on double standards, it is biased. This is what we always say. Some people say that sports are not political, while they do and show the most political actions in sports."
