Lebanese Speaker to visit Tehran

TNA - Beirut - Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri will be heading to Tehran upon the invitation of the Iranian Shura council's head, Ali Larijani, to partake in the "5th international conference for supporting Palestinian intifada" to be held at the Iranian capital in October 1 and 2 under the slogan "Palestinians are not seeking a country, they already have one."

Berri will be accompanied with the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc member, Deputy Muhammad Raad, who is also part of the Lebanese-Iranian parliamentary friendship committee.

Afterwards, the House Speaker and his accompanying delegation will move to Armenia upon the official invitation of the Armenian Speaker Hovik Abrahamian aiming at discussing bilateral ties reactivation.

Berri is also expected to meet with the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. 

Separately,Speaker Nabih Berri received a delegation of the Muslim scholars' coalition with whom he tackled latest local and regional developments.

The delegation underscored its total support to the outcomes of the Islamic-Christian summit held earlier this week at Dar Al-Fatwa. Ahmad Al-Zein who spoke in the name of the Scholars delegation said "such spiritual summits should be held on regular basis for they are the only hope for flattening all hindrances."

Berri's visitors uttered support for the latest declarations of Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rai, assuring that it serves the Lebanese in general and the Christians in particular.
