Taghribnews (TNA) - Iran, Russia to Strengthen Ties to Counter Sanctions, Enhance Cooperation

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the strategic importance of deepening ties between Iran and Russia, stating that bolstering bilateral relations will weaken the impact of sanctions and unjust measures imposed on both countries.

He highlighted that the partnership between Tehran and Moscow is on a stable and enduring path of growth.

Pezeshkian also reaffirmed that Iran's government remains committed to advancing current initiatives aimed at elevating relations across various sectors.“Strengthening the cooperation between Iran and Russia will reduce the effectiveness of sanctions and hostile actions targeting both countries,” said Pezeshkian.
He underscored that the development of relations between Tehran and Moscow is on a continuous and lasting trajectory.
President Pezeshkian also welcomed the prospect of a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan.
He expressed optimism that the meeting would lead to productive discussions and agreements on bilateral, regional, and international cooperation, especially within frameworks such as BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Russia Reaffirms Commitment to Cooperation
Sergei Shoigu, during the meeting, conveyed a message from President Putin, reiterating that Russia's stance on regional cooperation with Iran remains steadfast.
"President Putin is eagerly awaiting your meeting during the BRICS summit in Kazan," Shoigu stated, emphasizing Russia’s readiness to continue close collaboration on regional and international matters.
The two sides highlighted their commitment to further strengthening ties, which they believe will serve as a crucial counterbalance to external pressures and enhance their collective influence on the global stage.
