The 38th edition of the Islamic Unity Conference has officially kicked off in the Iranian capital Tehran with hundreds of Shia and Sunni scholars in attendance.
The new edition of the conference entitled “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values with an Emphasis on Palestine Issue” opened at the Islamic Conference Hall on Thursday September 19, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought will deliver speech at the opening ceremony.
More than 150 elites, prayer leaders, intellectuals and activists from across the world attend the conference underway on September 19-21 with the main focus of the event on the issue of Palestine.
The major Islamic event is annually held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in part of efforts for the Muslim intellectuals to convene and discuss the developments across the world of Islam.
