The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought underlined the role of teaching spirituality to the younger generation and the role of Muslim women for that end.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, speaking at a meeting of Muslim female scholars attending the 38th Islamic Unity Conference held on Thursday highlighted the role of Muslim women and mothers in upbringing the future generation of Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said that the opportunity to understand the Islamic values should be given to the younger generation.
The cleric also expressed his views on the contrast between Islamic and western values.
He said,” Liberty is a value but Islam recognizes piety in a higher stance in contrast with liberalist view that sets liberty above all values.”
The cleric also deplored the US and western mottos of liberalism as a mask to cover its capitalist approach.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari met with the group of female scholars and thinkers from across the world of Islam on the first day of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference.
