Sideline meeting of Tehran Islamic Unity Conference to discuss Gaza war

The Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought to hold sideline meeting on the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza and ways to end nearly one year of genocidal war on the besieged Gaza Strip.


Hujjat-ul-Islam Hadi Akbari, the secretary of the Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought said the meeting will be held on the last day of the third day of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The Saturday meeting of the group will be held with the ongoing war in Gaza on the agenda.
 
He said,” The meeting will particularly discuss the issue of Gaza as part of the theme for the 38th Islamic Unity Conference “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values with Emphasis on Palestine Issue”.
 
The cleric said,” The main issue is the defense for Palestine and the oppressed Palestinian nation in the besieged Gaza” and added,” The upcoming meeting will discuss the ways to support the Palestinians following the operation al-Aqsa Flood and also ways to prevent further onslaughts by the Israeli regime forces.”
 
According to the cleric the council, in frequent meetings, discusses the most important developments across the world of Islam and propose ways to boost the proximity among different Islamic denominations.
 
Saturday marks the final day of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference which was held in the Iranian capital Tehran on September 19-21 with hundreds of Shia and Sunni scholars from across the world of Islam in attendance.
