The defenseless people of Palestine will gain victory, Maulavi Nazir Ahmad Salami, a member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts says.

Salami made the remarks in an interview broadcasted live on Iran’s state television on Friday night, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Palestinians will awake people throughout world, the cleric said.

The issue of Palestine is not merely relared to the Arab countries, he stated.

Whole Muslim states attach paramount importance to Al-Aqsa Mosque, he added.

He noted that the conference has raised awareness on the Palestinian cause.

The key to gain victory against global arrogance is Islamic unity, he noted.

Commenting on the reactions of Islamic countries on the atrocities committed by the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip, he said that "we do not expeact all Muslim states to back Palestine."
 
Certain Islamic countries enjoy diplomatic relations with Western countries which is why they are unwilling to support Palestinians.

However, people in other parts of the world have been demonstrating rallies to show solidarity with the nation of Palestine.

Saturday marks the final day of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference which was held in the Iranian capital Tehran on September 19-21 with hundreds of Shia and Sunni scholars from across the world of Islam in attendance.
