A top Iranian cleric has emphasized as a ‘responsibility’ for the different Islamic denominations to contribute for ending the Israeli war on the Palestinians in Gaza and resolving the issue of Palestine.
Speaking at the second webinar of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference, Sheikh Yaqub Shams, elaborated on importance of unity among Muslims in a mobilization to resolve the issue of Palestine, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He called the issue of Palestine as an decades-old issue that has turned into a pain for the entire people in the world stressing solidarity as the sole solution to that.
He slammed the western plots that aim to divide Muslims stressing that boosting solidarity among the Islamic countries will certainly contribute to ending the issue of Palestine.
The Iranian cleric also called on the media to inform the world people to mobilize campaigns, raise funds and collect medical aids for the Palestinians trapped in the besieged Gaza.
Sheikh Yaqub Shams underlined the diplomatic solutions through international bodies like the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to settle the Palestine issue.
He also proposed launching an organization that particularly works on the issue of Palestine in face of the oppressors and occupiers.
The senior Iranian cleric made the remarks in an address to a webinar of the Sunni and Shia scholars across the globe in the first section of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference.
The second section of the conference entitled Afghan entitled "Islamic cooperation to achieve common values with an emphasis on the Palestinian issue" is scheduled to be held in the Iranian capital Tehran on September 19-21.
