Nearly a dozen Palestinians killed in overnight Israeli strikes across Gaza

13 Oct 2024 - 9:19

At least 11 Palestinian civilians have lost their lives and several more injured in a series of overnight airstrikes targeting Nuseirat and Jabaliya refugee camps in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Medical sources reported that seven individuals lost their lives and many were injured when Israeli forces targeted a home in Nuseirat camp in central Gaza.

Four more people were killed and others injured in Israeli strikes on the Jabalia refugee camp in the north. The fatalities are expected to rise as many of those injured are in critical condition.

Local sources say that Israeli forces have erected earthen barriers on main roads between Gaza City and the North Gaza Governorate in a bid to isolate the region as part of a continued ground offensive that has persisted for eight days.

Furthermore, reports suggest that Israeli forces have destroyed dozens of homes in Jabalia using explosive robots, resulting in significant casualties including both the deceased and wounded.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has so far resulted in 42,175 documented Palestinian fatalities, with an additional 98,336 individuals sustaining injuries, the majority of whom are women and children.

Thousands are also feared dead under the rubble of destroyed structures across the war-torn enclave, with civil defense teams and emergency services unable to reach several areas due to safety concerns amid the indiscriminate Israeli attacks.
