The Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, stressed that the resistance front will not have the shortest pause following the martyrdom of Yahya Sinwar.
The Leader made the remarks in a message issued on Saturday, a day after the martyrdom of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was confirmed, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Khalil Hayya, head of Hamas in Gaza, delivered a statement on Friday, a day after reports of Sinwar's martyrdom.
Ayatollah Khamenei said,” With the permission of God, the resistance will not stand still with the martyrdom of Sinwar, same way it did not halt with the martyrdom of its previous leaders.”
The Leader stressed,” Hamas is alive and will remain alive.”
Ayatollah Khamenei hailed Yahya Sinwar as a brilliant figure of resistance and struggle who stood against the oppressor and atrocious enemy and said,” Sinwar left the irreparable blow of October 7 as his legacy in the history of the region.”
The Leader added,” A person like him, who has spent his entire life in fight against the occupying oppressor enemy, deserves no death but martyrdom.”
Ayatollah Khamenei called the loss of Yahya Sinwar as painful for the resistance and said,” That is while the resistance front has not stopped with martyrdom of luminaries like Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Fathi Shaqaqi, Rantisi and Ismail Haniyeh and it will not see the least hesitation with the martyrdom of Sinwar.”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution vowed further support for the resistance fighters and expressed sympathy with the family and fellow fighters of Yahya Sinwar.
Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas resistance movement was killed in a fighting with Israeli troops in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah on Wednesday.
He succeeded the former politburo chief of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, after his martyrdom in an Israeli assassination strike in the Iranian capital Tehran in early September.
