Taghribnews (TNA) - Iran Condemns Israeli Aggression, Affirms Right to Self-Defense

In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Islamic Republic of Iran has condemned the recent Israeli military aggression against multiple military sites in Iran, characterizing it as a blatant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The statement, issued on Saturday, November 5, 2024, highlights Iran’s inherent right to self-defense, as outlined in Article 51 of the UN Charter. Iran maintains that it is both justified and obligated to defend itself against external aggression.

The Iranian government reiterated its commitment to utilizing all available material and spiritual resources to safeguard its security and vital interests. It also stressed the collective responsibility of all regional countries to maintain peace and stability, expressing gratitude to those nations that have condemned Israel's aggressive actions.
The statement further points out that the ongoing occupation and illegal activities of the Israeli regime, including the genocide of the Palestinian people and aggression against Lebanon—bolstered by comprehensive military and political support from the United States and certain Western nations—are primary sources of tension and insecurity in the region.
Iran called on all UN member states, particularly those party to the "Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide" and the "Geneva Conventions of 1949," to take urgent and collective action against blatant violations of international law. The statement underscored the necessity for immediate global mobilization to halt genocide, war, and aggression in Gaza and Lebanon and to curb the warmongering actions of the Israeli regime.
