The Friday prayer leader of Tehran has stressed Tehran’s right to respond to the Israeli aggression against Iranian military sites that killed four army personnel.
Ayatollah Kazem Seddiqi, in his Friday sermon, referred to article 51 of the UN charter regarding the inherent right of self-defense in case of an armed attack against a member of the international body, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The remark by the senior cleric comes a week after the Israeli regime targeted several military positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in three cities of Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam, killing four army personnel.
Ayatollah Kazem Seddiqi said,” The aggression by the Israeli terrorists against Iran, which is the cradle of many brave heroes, reveals the stupidity of the regime.”
He stressed that Iran has the inherent right to respond to the aggression by the Israeli regime.
The senior cleric quoted the Leader of the Islamic Revolution saying Israeli has miscalculated the capabilities, power, innovation and determination of the Iranian nation.
Still in another part of his sermon, Ayatollah Seddiqi referred to the National Pupils Day which is to be marked on Sunday November 3.
The interim Friday prayer leader of Tehran said the incidents on that day crushed the pompous glory of the United States of America by a number of Iranian school and university students.
