9 Nov 2024 - 16:04

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman has denounced the deadly terrorist blast at railway station in northwest Pakistan that killed over two dozen people injuring scores more.

Extending condolences to the government and nation of Pakistan, Esmaeil Bagahei said that these acts of terrorism violate all legal principles and rules, human rights, and human standards and cannot be justified in any way.

Referring to the principled positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in firmly condemning all manifestations of terrorism and violent extremism, the senior Iranian diplomat said that the eradication of this sinister phenomenon requires further strengthening of coordination and cooperation of all countries at the bilateral, regional, and international levels.

At least 25 people have been killed in an attack launched by Pakistani separatists targeting a railway station in northwestern province of Baluchistan.

The blast on Saturday hit as passengers waited on a platform at the main railway station in the provincial capital Quetta.

The attack was claimed by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), one of the area's main militant groups. The group frequently claims deadly attacks against security forces or Pakistanis from other provinces, notably Punjabis.
