Lebanese Parliament speaker, Nabih Berri, has called on the people displaced as a result of Israeli aggression to return home as a ceasefire between Israel and the Arab country took effect on Wednesday morning.
"I invite you to return to your homes... return to your land," said Berri.
He also called for the country to "quickly elect a president" as political bickering has left Lebanon without a head of state for over two years.
Lebanese Parliament speaker said,” Zionist entity aggression affected all aspects of Lebanese nation’s livelihood.”
Earlier in the day, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he had backed a ceasefire deal after convening his "security cabinet" to discuss the relevant proposal that had been put forward by the United States and France.
Various regional resistance factions have also hailed the development and emergence of the agreement as a victory for the regional Axis of Resistance.
