Lebanese President Michel Sleiman and Premier Najib Mikati hailed the successful swap deal
Lebanese President Michel Sleiman and Premier Najib Mikati hailed the successful swap deal, and stressed that "Israel" must tilt towards peace rather than to proceed with its usual policy, jeopardizing the Mideast region's security and stability.
Lebanese President said "the first phase of prisoners swap between Israel and Palestine must be a lesson for the enemy to scupper warfare and aggressions policy, calling to venture again into just, permanent, and comprehensive peace-aimed talks on the basis of Madrid Conference and the Arab peace Initiative".
From his side Premier Najib Mikati said "this exchange is a clear sign for Israel to understand that its aggressive performance will not halt the Palestinians from calling for their rights", stressing that "Israel" faces no other option than accepting an independent Palestinian state, with Quds its capital".
Within this frame, the Lebanese President met with Premier Najib Mikati who stated later during his patronage of the Middle East Businessmen Association works launching event in Beirut, that "Lebanon ought to preserve positive ties with its entourage as well as with the international community".
Mikati also said "Lebanon has the capability to be the bridge converging East and West", in that respect, hailed Lebanese people for having always favored consensus over conflict and have always been determined to preserve their national unity which is one of the characteristics of the country's political system.
