The Israeli navy intercepted two ships carrying activists supportive of Palestinians under siege in Gaza strip, an "Israeli" Defense Forces communique said Friday.
Beirut - Taqrib News Agency (TNA) - Two ships, one Canadian and the other Irish, sailed to Gaza in an attempt to break the blockade forced on Palestinians by "Israeli" army.
However, "Israeli" navy halted said attempt and officers went on board the ships, claiming that the siege was in compliance with international law.
Spokesperson for Hamas in Gaza, Fawzi Barhoum, condemned acts of the "Israeli" navy describing it as piracy executed by Israel in a show of power against anyone who tries to break the siege.
"The siege on Gaza as a crime against humanity, and it is the right of any person or institution to come to Gaza strip by land, air or sea; thus, the attack on these ships is an attack on humanity."
