The "Coalition of Muslim Scholars in Lebanon" organized a seminar entitled "Imam Hussein and Islamic awakening" on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein and his family and his friends in the incident of Karbala.
The lectures were by the President of Hezbollah political Council Sayyed Ibrahim Amin Sayyed and the Imam of Al-Quds mosque Sheikh Maher Hammoud.
Sheikh Hammoud explained the meaning of Ashura and the "goals of Imam Hussein in support of the Islamic religion and reform after being marred by Yazid, pointing to the strong and powerful relationship and loyalty and love that was gathering, Imam Ali and Omar bin al-Khattab," and called for "the unity of Muslims in a unified vision and to meet under the banner of a single body of Muslims against Israel and the global arrogance."
In His turn, Sayyed Ibrahim Amin Sayyed considered that the existing overlaps and complex situations in the region put a great responsibility for scrutinizing the situation and governance of the movements and events.
"The thing that is certain is that the American system is not able to protect its system." He assured
His Eminence said: "The Americans want three things from the revolutions in the region's, oil and protecting Israel and the internal strife, this is their condition of cooperation, but they will fail, they are trying to practice the internal strife in every country on the basis of a nationalist and moderate Islamist and Shiite-Sunni and Muslim-Christian."
He concluded: "They want to take Palestine to the settlement, but we will continue to resist the Zionist occupation."
