US State Department Spokesperson Victoria Nuland, in October, advised Syrian gunmen not to turn themselves into the authorities in response to the offer of amnesty issued by the Syrian Interior Ministry.

The United States on Friday condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks that target security departments in Damascus, resulting in the martyrdom of security personnel and civilians.

US State Department Spokesman Mark Toner said that the US condemns the bombings in the strongest terms and that there can be no justification for terrorism of any kind.

He also said that it's crucial that Friday’s attack not impede the work of the Arab League mission, stressing the need for the mission to proceed and the importance of cooperation with the observers.

Russia on Friday vehemently condemned the barbaric terrorist attacks hit Damascus claiming the lives of a large number of innocent people.

The Russian Foreign Ministry statement said the extremist forces, which refuse reaching to an internal settlement in Syria through the national dialogue between the government and the opposition, are seeking to achieve their goals by inflaming the situation and armed provocations against the state establishments and the civilians , including women and children.

The Russian Foreign Ministry hoped that this terrorist work will be estimated objectively by the Arab League observer mission, which arrived in Damascus within the frameworks of the Arab Work Plan to overcome the internal crisis in Syria.

The statement confirmed the stability of the Russian position that calls for ending the violence in Syria regardless of its source and the necessity for the Syrians themselves to come to reconciliation regarding the future of their country and the ways to solve issues in political, economic and social areas.

In its turn, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Friday condemned strongly the terrorist attacks that took place in Damascus and took the lives of dozens of innocents, expressing deepest sympathies to the families of the martyrs and the injured.

In a statement published on the Iranian Foreign Ministry's website, Mehmanparast said that instability and threatening Syria's national security doesn't just threaten the Syrian people, but rather all the region's people.

Also UN Security Council's 15 members on Friday condemned the twin terrorist explosions of Damascus.

AFP reported that the Council strongly condemned the two attacks, adding "The 15-members offered their condolences for the victims of such heinous acts, their families and the Syrian people."
