Jumblatt is weakening the Durze Community

MP Fadi Awar on Thursday joined his voice to that of former MP Faysal Daoud, deprecating MP Walid Jumblatt's anti-Assad rule stances.

In a coordination meeting between Awar and the Lebanese-Arab Nidal Movement Secretary General, both men agreed that Jumblatt's most recent stances on Syria's unrest unveiled the PSP leader's crystal-clear meddling in Syria's internal affairs.

"His incessant calls to defeat the Syrian regime, and his bias support to the conspiracy against Syria, are no longer secret to anyone," a statement issued following the meeting read.

Both men also suggested that Jumblatt's erratic stances were the end-result of US dictates. "He wagers on the collapse of the Syrian regime, realizes his miscalculations, apologizes (...) to later betray Syria all over again."

Responding to Jumblatt's incitement of Syrian Druze against Assad's rule, both MPs stressed in their statement that Jumblatt represented no one "but himself and his supporters."

"Syrian Druze pay no attention to his [Jumblatt's] stances, they don't even take them into consideration. To the contrary, they sneer at his words," the statement said, expressing the Syrian Druze's utter refusal to be exploited by Jumblatt to the interest of either side.
