Supreme Leader Calls for Muslim Unity Against Common Adversary

4 Oct 2024 - 12:28

During Friday prayers following a ceremony honoring Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and his companions, leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei emphasized that the adversaries of the Iranian nation are also the enemies of Palestinians, Lebanese, Iraqis, Egyptians, Syrians, and Yemenis, highlighting the shared struggles faced by these nations. They pointed out that while the enemy employs various tactics—ranging from psychological warfare to economic pressures and military might—the underlying threat remains the same.

Addressing a large gathering at Imam Khomeini Prayer Hall, the Leader urged Muslims to remain mindful of divine boundaries in their words and actions, calling for greater cohesion within the Islamic world.
According to Iran Press News Agency, the ceremony took place at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Prayer Hall, attended by a large crowd of devout citizens and led by the Supreme Leader.
In his sermon, the Leader emphasized, "We must not neglect divine boundaries in our words and actions, as this embodies true piety."He further stressed, "The policy of the Quran for Muslims is for Muslim nations to remain united."
In his continued remarks, the Leader stressed the need to fortify defense and preserve dignity across the Islamic world. "We must strengthen the defensive belt of independence and honor from Afghanistan to Yemen, and from Iran to Gaza and Lebanon in all Muslim nations," he said. He noted that his message was particularly directed toward the people of Lebanon and Palestine.
The Leader referenced Islamic teachings, the Iranian Constitution, and international law in justifying the defense of nations against external threats. "Islamic defensive rulings make our duties clear. Both in Islam’s teachings and in our Constitution—as well as in international laws, which we did not draft but are obligated to follow—it is stated that every nation must defend its land, identity, and interests against aggression."
He also reaffirmed the right of Palestinians to determine their own fate and resist occupation. "The people of Palestine must decide the future of their country, and no international court or organization has the right to challenge them for standing firm against the Zionist regime," the Leader stated. He further emphasized that those supporting the people of Palestine and Lebanon should not face criticism for doing so, as it is their duty to assist.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei highlighted last year's "Al-Aqsa Storm," describing it as a rightful, logical, and legal movement where the Palestinians were justified in their actions. The defense of Palestinians by Lebanese forces was characterized as a legitimate and reasonable response, and the official praised the actions of Iranian armed forces in defending Gaza and Palestine as entirely legal and rightful."
The actions of our armed forces represented the minimum punishment for the usurping Zionist regime, in light of the shocking crimes committed by this predatory regime and its American backers in the region," the official asserted.
Leader's Address to the Islamic World: A Tribute to Martyr Hassan Nasrallah
In his second sermon, the Supreme Leader of Iran addressed the Islamic world—particularly the people of Palestine and Lebanon—delivering his remarks in Arabic. He expressed the importance of honoring his "brother and dear friend," the beloved figure of the Islamic world and the eloquent voice of the region's peoples, the distinguished Hassan Nasrallah, during Friday prayers in Tehran.
"I deemed it necessary to pay tribute to this shining gem of Lebanon and convey some reminders to all," he stated, highlighting that while the audience of this sermon encompasses the entire Islamic world, the people of Lebanon and Palestine are the special focus.
"We are all grieving the martyrdom of our dear leader; this is a significant loss that truly saddens us," the Leader acknowledged.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei also emphasized that their mourning should not translate into despair or hopelessness but should rather resonate with the mourning for Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)—serving as a source of vitality, teaching, motivation, and hope.
This powerful tribute reinforces the connection between Iran and its support for the resistance movements in Lebanon and Palestine, calling for unity and strength among Muslim nations in the face of adversity.
