Wennesland condemns Israel's advancement of plans for 3,400 housing units for colonists

UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, has condemned the advancement by the Israeli occupation authorities of plans for over 3,400 housing units for Israeli colonists in the occupied West Bank.

He concluded, "I reiterate that all settlements are illegal under international law, and I urge Israeli authorities to cease all settlement activity and refrain from provocative actions."

Oman has condemned and denounced the decision of the Israeli occupation state to approve the construction of around 3,500 new colonial units in the West Bank.
In an official statement, the Foreign Ministry said the decision was a new, blatant violation of the rules of international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions and disregarded the legal rights of the Palestinian people.
The Ministry renewed Oman’s call for the international community to take immediate action to deter and hold Israel accountable for their illegal and illegitimate actions and to work to dismantle the Israeli settlements on Palestinian lands.
The Ministry also renewed Oman's call for the Israeli government to be held accountable for the policy and practices of genocide, torture, siege and starvation against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
The statement called on the UN Security Council to carry out its responsibilities to stop the aggression, restore security and peace and protect the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.
