Taghribnews (TNA) - Supreme Leader: Participating in elections is national duty

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, after casting his vote this morning in the second round of parliamentary elections, stated that participating in elections is a national duty that must be observed by citizens.

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that elections in themselves are a fundamental task for the country and the people. Elections are a sign of the presence of the people and a sign of the will and decision of the people. Therefore, the national duty of every person who wants the country to progress and get closer to great goals is to participate in elections.

He continued: "There is no difference between the first and second stage elections, both are important. People chose some candidates as parliamentarians in the first stage, but some seats in the parliament are still vacant, and in the second stage, the other constituencies' representatives will be elected.
The leader of the revolution stated: "In the second stage, the unfinished capacity of the first stage is completed. If we do not participate in the second stage, we have left the work of the first stage half-finished. The more votes there are, the stronger the parliament is, and the stronger the parliament is, the more it will be possible to work in the country."
