UNRWA says 39,000 high school students in Gaza are deprived of taking exams

24 Jun 2024 - 17:22

UNRWA Director of Planning, Sam Rose, said today that 39,000 high school students in the besieged Gaza Strip are unable to take their exams.

“it is yet another layer of sadness that the population has gone through,” he said on his X account.
He also highlighted that more than half a million children in the Strip have been deprived of education for the past eight months.
Hundreds of demonstrators in Taiwan demanded an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and urged the government to stop selling weapons to Israeli and American companies.
The demonstrators marched from Freedom Square to Control Yuan in the capital, Taipei, according to local newspaper, Taiwan Plus News.
They carried Palestinian flags and banners with phrases condemning the Israeli attacks on Gaza, and chanted slogans such as “Free Palestine.”
Several countries in the world saw similar demonstrations, affirming that selling weapons to Israel makes these countries supportive of genocide against the Palestinians.
