Qualifying contest planned for Iran, Oman armies’ Quran competition

A qualifying contest will be held on Saturday in Tehran to select the Iranian Armed Forces’ representatives in an upcoming friendship Quran competition between the armies of Iran and Oman.

Top Quran activists from the Army, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), the Police, and the Ministry of Defense will take part in Saturday’s event, Hojat-ol-Islam Hassan Firuzi, head of the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Police Force’s Ideo-Political Organization told IQNA.

He said a total of 48 individuals will be take part in the contest, hosted by the Ideo-Political Organization.

According to Hojat-ol-Islam Firuzi, 12 contenders with best performance will qualify to represent Iran in the upcoming competition with representatives of Oman’s Army.

The 7th Quran contest of the armies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Oman is slated for May.

It will be held in the categories of memorization of the entire Quran and memorization of 20, 10, and 5 Juzes (parts) of the Quran.

It is annually organized either in Iran or Oman to enhance friendship between the Armed Forces of the two countries.
