Iran's Ayatollah Araki meets Haidar al Abadi

Senior Iranian cleric met with Iraqi premier discussing ways to boost Islamic proximity.

Grand Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, met with Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al Abadi on Thursday to discuss ways to strengthen Islamic proximity and unity among Muslim communities, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Two sides in this meeting stressed expansion of ideological, cultural and educational efforts in an attempt to confront extremism and thoughts which allow massacre, annihilation and evacuation of the people from their homes.
 
Iran's Ayatollah Araki, arrived in Iraq on Wednesday leading a board of delegates.
