Mehmet Gormez, President of the Directorate of Religious Affairs, met with top Lebanese Mufti discussing the current issues in the world of Islam and slammed fake fatwas issued under the name of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He expressed regret over the unpleasant incidents which have plagued the world of Islam during the recent years calling them as the result of domestic and foreign stirrings and stressed the heavy burden of the mission for organizations and institutions to confront the issue.
 
Turkish president of the Religious Affairs Directorate stressed,” One of the main domestic hurdles for the world of Islam are some extremist groups which have legalized their measures in a religious disguise and spread violence and terrorism in the world.” warning against fake fatwas which are not originated from Islam.
 
He criticized the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan as the grounds for appearance of ISIL and other terrorist groups in the region and said,” Had it not been for the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, ISIL, Taliban, al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups should have not plagued the Middle East region.”
 
Turkish cleric also expressed regret over Zionist regime storming into Al-Aqsa Mosque and called for a review of the viewpoint and function of the Muslim world over the issue of Palestine.
