Pakistani Sunni cleric denounced killing of Shia Muslims in the country warning that Takfiri (excommunication) and Wahhabi groups are have targeted Islamic unity.

Pir Masoum Hussein Naqavi, Head of Niyazi Scholars Society in Pakistan, slammed Shia-killing in Pakistan stressing that killing of Shia Muslims by extremist Takfiri and Wahhabi should not be mistaken for a conflict between Shia and Sunni communities, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He rejected any rift between Shia and Sunni Muslims in Pakistan and said,” Terrorist Takfiri groups, financially backed by some Arab states, particularly Saudi Arabia, are committing fratricide in Pakistan.”
The Sunni cleric called Pakistani people to confront with crimes committed by terrorist Takfiri groups and said,” Homicide, suicide bombings and beheading of the people by Takfiri groups have tarnished the image of Islam in the world.”
He slammed General Zia-ul-Haq, 6th Pakistani president, as the pioneer of Shia killing in the country and assimilated Takfiri terrorist groups to Zionists in their killing of the people.
