Expert level summit on unified Islamic nation held in Tehran

Expert level meeting on unified Islamic nation was held in Tehran in line with the meetings of the first conference on “Implementing Diplomacy of Islamic Unity in the World of Islam” to reject Takfir (excommunication) once more and stress the achievements of previous Islamic unity meetings.

Sheikh Khalil Afra, Iranian Sunni scholar, attending the first meeting on “Implementing Diplomacy of Islamic Unity in the World of Islam” referred to “unified nation” as a Qur’anic term expressing regret for spread of excommunication among Muslims and rejected that as an Islamic ban, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” Unified Islamic nation approaches God Almighty through monotheism though unfortunately Muslims focus on minor differences and that leads to spread of disagreements.”
 
The cleric highlighted several references to Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), in Sunni reference books and lauded that as a shared belief which can be used to deduce Sunni Fiq’hso that true Islamic solidarity realizes.
 
Mohammad Abbasi, a participant in this conference noted several wars and disagreements in the history which have happened only due to misunderstandings of the discourse which have formed socio-religious constructions.
 
He added,” Diversions have prevented different societies from transcendence and spirituality; therefore, if we demand formation of a unified Islamic nation, we should build mutual relations.”
 
Iranian expert called for cooperation of the youth, athletes as well as academic and scientific figures for formation of a unified Islamic nation.
 
Dr Azizi, another participant of the conference counted monotheism, prophecy and Imamate as the axes for a unified Islamic nation and said,” Fraternity, justice, security, empowerment, rejection of tyrants, peace and morality are the blessings brought in a unified Islamic nation” and counted jurisprudence as the flag bearer of the Islamic nation in the world of Islam.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi, named unified Islamic nation as one of the most important objectives of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and noted,” If we intend to pass the obstacles mightily we should first facilitate ourselves with individual and collective tolerance and turn into an integrated nation.”
 
He stressed,” Islam is in full power in the present era and that is due to formation of a unified Islamic nation besides a leadership arisen from knowledge, jurisprudence and determination” praising Iran as a flag bearer of Islamic solidarity where Shia and Sunni communities are living in coexistence and support each other in different areas.
