Islamic unity, key prerequisite for appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (AS): cleric
Senior Iranian scholar attending the closing ceremony on Mahdavism highlighted Islamic unity as the most important prelude to appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (AS), the last savior of man according to Islam.

Grand Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, attended the conference on Mahdavism on the birth anniversary of twelfth Shia Imam, Hazrat Mahdi (AS), stressing the ideology as the most important thought in the present era and counted Islamic solidarity as the necessary prelude to appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (AS), grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He referred to holy Qur’an calling the waiting for the last savior as one of the most important traditions saying,” God Almighty and the whole world is expecting a great phenomenon to happen.”
The cleric counted three stages for waiting; the first one waiting for creation of Adam as the first man then waiting for revelation of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) whose prophecy had been promised in all divine religions and the third phase of waiting is expectation for Hazrat Mahdi (AS) twelfth Shia Imam who will carry out justice in the whole world.
Secretary General of the World Forum said,” The basis for appearance and ruling of caliphate of Mahdi (AS) is formation of an Islamic nation which itself necessitates solidarity among all its members.”
He added,” To follow Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is in relation with a unified identity of the Islamic nation and Islamic unity is the most important prelude for appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (AS).”
Ayatollah Araki detailed the thoughts of Mahdism as thoughts which lead human society to the community of justice and righteousness, a community where promotion and prosperity leaves no needy or underprivileged people.
Iranian top cleric said,” The most important necessity for the present era is to revive the Islamic nation and that all Muslim are united in one body.”
According to Shia Islamic eschatology, Imam Mahdi (AS), twelfth Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) who is absent at present will rise to save mankind and will rid the world of evil bringing justice to all people.
