Commander stresses Iran’s deterrent power

“In the years following the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the process of boosting our defense might has always continued and, with the grace of God, our deterrent power today is not at all comparable to what it was in the past,” he said Saturday in an address to a national conference on speedboats, held in Tehran’s Malek-Ashtar University of Technology.

Rear Admiral Fadavi added, "even the Americans have acknowledged Iran’s great deterrent power and sought to counter it."

The Islamic Republic has always maintained that its defense power is driven by deterrence and poses no threat to any other country.

Elsewhere, the senior commander highlighted the rapid progress the IRGC has made in manufacturing speedboats since it started making them back in the 1980s.

The IRGC has manufactured military speedboats with the breakneck velocity of 110 knots (203 km/h).
The IRGC Navy says the security of the Persian Gulf will be ensured without the presence of foreign forces, particularly the Americans.
