Iran, Russia exchange views on issues of mutual interests
Alexander Grushko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, who traveled to Tehran to consult on bilateral issues of interest, met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs.

the Iranian diplomat Ali Bagheri Kani considered the cooperation between Iran and Russia regarding matters of regional and international interest to be important, and considered it necessary to increase the interactions between the two countries to ensure peace and stability in the region and the governance of multilateralism.
Bagheri Kani also emphasized the necessity of continued cooperation between Iran and Russia with other independent countries to secure national interests and counter discriminatory and unilateral approach.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia for his part underlined the importance of multilateralism in the world and the development of cooperation between independent countries.
Alexander Grushko, while criticizing the misuse of issues such as freedom, democracy and human rights by Western countries, emphasized the necessity of the rule of law in interactions between countries.
