Manouchehr Mottaki, the International Deputy at the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought received a delegation headed by the Head of the Iraqi parliament's Commission for Religious Affairs and endowment, Al-Seyyed Ali Al-alaq, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The two sides talked over cultural and proximity related issues including the establishment of a branch of the University of Islamic Denominations and foundation of Al-Taqrib Forum in Iraq.

Placing stress on the issue of rapprochement, Mottaki held it as an elevated matter through which Muslims from all sects  can make headways and counter the fallouts of Takfir and extremism in the World of Islam.

Former Iranian minister of foreign affairs pointed out, "focus on Islamic unity can secure Muslims from the threat imposed by Takfiri and extremist groups."

The International Deputy at Iran top unity center announced the World Forum was ready to work in tandem and cooperated with Iran for advancing the set objectives in cultural arenas and infighting the threat of Takfiri groups with this connection.

Head of the Iraqi parliament's Commission for Religious Affairs and endowment, for his part, highlighted the necessity of launching a branch of the University of Islamic Denominations in Iraq noting the project was supported by Iraqi prime minister who always emphasized the prime importance of proximity.

Iraqi cleric lamented regret over a cultural vacuum created during the past years extending his sincere enthusiasm for receiving any help provided by Iran top unity body to promote unity and forward cultural related activities in his country.

Al-Seyyed Ali Al-alaq went on to stress the Iraqi officials welcomed any proposals offered in cultural arena by the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought.
