'East and West are neither fond of Shiite nor Sunni'

Secretary General of Lebanese Islamic Monolithic Movement says East and West are neither fond of Shiite nor Sunni but are after their own interests.

According to Taghrib News Agency Sheikh Belal Saeed Shaaban in an interview on the sideline of International Islamic Unity Conference while expressing his joy for holding of this conference said, "we hope to witness the reflection of its achievements in the Muslim community."

"the problem we are faced with is that Shiites and Sunnis speak different languages. The Sunni clergies are talking to Sunnis in Sunni language and Shiite scholars are talking to Shiite community in Shiite language," said the Lebanese clergy.

He added, "We religious figures of the World of Islam should all speak a single language."

Sheikh Saeed Shaaban went on to say, "holding this kind of gatherings is very useful but its finding should be reflected in society so that differences among various Islamic schools of thoughts to disappear."

He urged Muslims to avoid disagreements because that is the first step towards unity adding, "that it’s regrettable that a few million Jews are  ruling the world and 1.6 billion Muslims don’t work together politically."
