Top Egyptian mufti issued the permission for holding celebrations of Sha'ban month, marking the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi, the twelfth shia leader.
Ali Juma, senior Egyptian mufti, issuing the permission for celebrating Sha'ban month occasions stressing the religious pretexts behind celebrations, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
High ranking Egyptian mufti in this decree said," Rather than the reason behind the ceremonies held for 15th of Sha'ban, celebrations have to be based on religious occasions and there is no doubt in that."
He referred to recommendation of Grand Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) to honor 15th of Sha'ban and counted Wajib (obligatory) and mustahabb (supererogatory) actions for the time.
He also said the ceremonies must exclude what has been banned by Sharia.
Previously this grand Sunni figure had rejected visiting holy shrines to be atheistic manifest rather had said," Visiting shrines of the household of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is one of the best actions.
