“Unity is the key to success of Islamic nation.”

Top Iranian cleric met with Sunni MPs stressing necessity of Islamic unity as the factor to strengthen identity of an Islamic nation.

Grand Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought met with Sunni Members of Iran Parliament stressing the role of MPs in boosting unity calling solidarity as the key to success of the Islamic Republic in the world, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Ayatollah Araki said,” A look at the history of Islam will show perfect solidarity of Muslims which can be set as an example for us.” referring to the companions of Imam Ali (AS), first Shia Imam, in some battles including both Shia and Sunni members of the then society.
 
The cleric called unity as the factor which boosts the identity of Islamic nation counting honor, success, solidarity and victory as the features for identity of the Islamic nation.
 
Ayatollah Araki noted that any dispersion in society is due to a shortcoming in the Islamic aspect of the society and said,” We, at the world forum, look at the issue of proximity only from the view of religious aspect; therefore, proximity is not a political strategy for us.”
 
The scholar highlighted the role and high potentiality of Sunni MPs in boosting proximity.
 
Abed Fattahi, member of the Sunni fraction in Iran’s Parliament and representative of Urumiyeh in this meeting praised the fraternal relations of Shia and Sunni Muslims saying that the denominations share more than 90 percent of the Islamic principles and the minor disagreements are due to historical issues exaggerated by the enemies of Islam.
 
He noted that proximity does not mean the members of Shia or Sunni communities convert to the other denomination, rather it means to boost the commonalities and alleviate the disagreements.
 
Othman Ahmadi, representative of Urumiyeh in Iran’s Parliament, praised the absolute freedom of the religious minorities in Iran rejecting any relation between Daesh terrorist group and Sunni community in Iran noting that strengthening ties between Muslims can be a hurdle against the terrorist group.
 
Salar Moradi, representative of Sanandaj in the Parliament, said to bring gap among Muslims aim at tarnishing the image of Muslims in the international arena and stressed that boosting unity and also depending on true Islam can be the way to foil Takfiri Daesh intrigues.
 
Nasser Kashani, representative of Zahedan, called the Parliament as manifest of Islamic unity in Iran and demanded for efficient use of the friendly ties between Shia and Sunni MPs in Iran.
 
He added,” Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic put great stress on necessity of Islamic proximity and once we follow His Execellency’s remarks we will achieve perfect unity.”
