Talking to various delegations, which visited the hunger strike camp, set up outside the National Press Club here, to express their solidarity with the Majlis leader, he said that it was a matter of embarrassment in the comity of nations that so far we had not been able to eliminate the terrorists who were in a very small number and same was the case with their facilitators and supporters.

He emphasised that only with unity in the rank and file of the society, terrorism, the biggest challenge to Pakistan and its people, could be dealt with successfully.

Allama Nasir said that by creating and fanning apprehensions and doubts about Pakistan’s nuclear capability, conspiracies were underway by the imperialist forces. He regretted that rulers were not having enough courage even to express concern at diplomatic level and talk to the enemies in a tough tone.

However, referring to Youm-e-Takbeer, he maintained that 200 million Pakistanis would defend the motherland at any cost, saying it was mandatory on all Pakistanis to safeguard the motherland.

“People will have to come on roads peacefully to rid the state institutions of political influence and to purge Pakistan of terrorists and traitors,” he contended.

He lamented that Shia community was facing target killings with impunity and the government lacked the political will to take on the terrorists. Those, who called on him, included Allama Muhammad Najfi, Maulana Mirza Iftikhar, Haider Ali Shah, Zakir Riaz Husain Ratowal and Nadim Abbas.

Allama Nasir is on hunger strike for the last 17 days and is only taking medicines and liquid. He is diabetic and suffers from heart ailment as well. MWM is protesting the wave of killings of Shia teachers, doctors, professors, advocates and other professionals.
